Week 14 (Spring Weather!)

The weather has been amazing this past week. I walked outside and I could breathe the fresh air and not wear a coat. It is such a relief feeling like spring is coming. Spring is my favorite season and it seems like each year spring gets shorter and shorter, so I am definitely taking advantage of this weather. Another thing that has been great is the fact that people were outside hanging out and it felt like a lively campus. It has been a while since this campus has felt like that. Due to the wonderful weather, my family and I took advantage of it and spent the day together on Saturday. My mom, her partner, my grandma, and sister all picked me up and we headed to Starbucks. My mom gets a lot of gift cards from work so it is nice being able to get a treat once in a while. My sister and I split a mocha frappuccino, which was very yummy. Week 12 (Rational Argument Topic)

I am exploring the  topic of slaughtering techniques of chickens and their humaneness. My mom loves learning about different things and doing research on them. Last summer she found articles about how farm slaughter chickens and how relaxed the rules are in the U.S. versus Europe. She shared lots of information to be and I found it very fascinating. So, I am taking this opportunity to learn more about the different methods of slaughtering chickens and figuring out which ones are humane or not.   (This is the electrical stunning way) Chickens g o through a very stressful process to eventually get slaughtered. The most common way: Chickens are first put in crates as they are being shipped to the slaughterhouse.
